Being new to shooting and on a budget, trying to find quality accessories for a good price can be challenging, so I have been on the hunt to find products that will work for me and my budget as I learn and become a better shooter.

The rule of thumb that I was told was you should be spending more on glass that on your rifle. That rule does not work to well with my budget.

On the search for an LPVO I found a cheap scope that cost under 60 dollars on Amazon. The reviews were promising so I took a chance and bought the LPVO. I figured at $60 if it doesn’t work I am not out of pocket a lot of money.

The scope arrived nicely packaged and came with scope mounts for a picatinny rail. Also included in the box was the throw lever for the dial. The LPVO stands for Low Power Variable Optic, incase you were wondering. Listening to youtube videos and podcasts I kept hearing the term but didn’t actually know what it stood for.

So, the low down on the optic. Its made from decent aluminum and does not weigh that much. The glass is clear, and there is a great ocular lens with good adjustment.

The turrets have to be pulled out before you can make your adjustments for up and down or left and right. You can pull the outsides of the turrets off and to reset the markings. The adjustments are 1/2 MOA. The throw lever has a good feel to it and is tight to move but responds well.

I got it fitted to my AR and set for my eye relief. With it installed and ready to go I did a rough bore site and took it to the range to finish sighting it in. It sighted in great at 50 yards and was shooting where I was aiming. 1 thing I did find after my range time with it was that the thumb screws for the mounts to the picatinny rail had worked their way loose. Not sure if I didn’t tighten it properly or what happened. I added a little loctite to the screw threads and tightened them properly this time.

I would definitely recommend this LPVO as a starter scope for the budget conscious. You can’t beat it at $59.99.
